Maternal Mental Health
Becoming a parent — whether through pregnancy, fertility struggles, loss, or the early years of child-raising — is one of life’s most profound transitions. For many women, this phase brings not only joy but also anxiety, grief, overwhelm, identity shifts, and profound emotional change. You may be navigating fertility challenges or loss, pregnancy-related stress, the postpartum period, or the ongoing demands of being a working mom. And despite the internalized story of what “motherhood should look like,” you might be feeling far from what you expected — anxious, disconnected, exhausted, or unsure of who you are within this new role.
Maternal mental health support honors all of this. It provides a space where your emotional experience is taken seriously — not minimized or dismissed — and where the full complexity of this life stage is seen, heard, and held. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all coping tips, therapy supports you in understanding what you’re living through, restoring a sense of inner steadiness, and reconnecting with what matters most to you.
In collaboration, we provide compassionate, evidence-informed support for:
Fertility and pre-conception stress, including the emotional impact of trying to conceive
Pregnancy-related anxiety and depression, supporting you through fear, loss of control, and changing expectations
Postpartum mood and anxiety challenges, including depression, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and overwhelm
Adjustment to life after baby, including identity shifts, relationship changes, and pressure to “do it all”
Working mom support, helping you navigate burnout, role conflict, and emotional balance
This work is not about being perfect— it’s about supporting you as a whole person through the emotional, relational, and identity shifts that come with building and raising a family.
From my Chicago-based practice, I offer maternal mental health support both in person and via secure telehealth throughout Illinois. If you’re facing the emotional weight of fertility challenges, pregnancy transitions, postpartum mood concerns, or the ongoing demands of mothering while maintaining your sense of self, therapy can be a grounded, stabilizing presence through this chapter of life.
